There is a medicine in the wheel of nature. A revolution we can depend on, a trust in the family of things.

Who we are.

We (Kristin & Sam) think of ourselves as the stewards of Turtle Dove Farm. When we first met the property we knew instantly that this is where we wanted to raise our children and create memories with friends, family, and clients. Both of us had a twinkle of yes, this… in our eyes.

Kristin is the founder of WYLD Leadership, a learning and development organization that designs customized retreats, workshops, and coaching for companies and individuals worldwide.

The Abbey naturally reflects her personal and professional mission by providing a place for people to intentionally celebrate the idea that “life is good” and we are here to learn how to create more good.

Sam founded Sandboxx, a company that puts a more connection and compassion into the military journey. He helps new recruits and their families stay in touch with each other and the military community as a whole. If you know Sam he is surely to offer his help to you in some way - he loves ideas, the great outdoors, and fixing things. His two favorite things to talk about are his children and airplanes.

Our logo has a pretty cool story. It was made by hand and represents the soul of our farm. Also, all of our typefaces are historic and handcrafted.

A little history.

In the autumn of 1862, as Northern Virginia stood between two armies and the fate of the Union wavered, General George B. McClellan and his men made camp on this land at Turtle Dove Farm. Beneath canvas tents, amid campfires and candlelight, strategy, and duty lived side by side. The ground still holds the imprint of that tension.

Today, where soldiers once gathered, a historic cabin has been restored into The Poets Cabin. It is now a space for reflection, language, and meaning, shaped from the same soil that witnessed both unraveling and repair.

The Poets Cabin is a bridge between then and now. A quiet place to listen, to write, and to sit beneath the same stars. Come write where history happened. Come hear what the land still remembers, and say what you have been carrying.

Turtle Dove Farm is named for our two children and the animals that quietly guard them.
